The first photo i took the one of my daughter's head above the pile of hay, selected an area around her head and heightened the brightness and contrast to pull out a more clearer image of her and ended up double framing her in the process.
This was originally a black an white image i attempted to use for color scheme photo's. Used my quick select tool and clicked on what was originally white, then selected the inverse. I opened my channel mixer and played with the red, green, blue, and contrast levels to get a photo that would have been usable for the color scheme assignment.

I like your ideas used for the top photo, and if you'd taken it a step further and feathered the edges of the selection it would've looked like there was smoke swirling about her head! I think the second one is pretty cool, like a piece of abstract art.
ReplyDeletePaige beat me to it… Feathering the edges of the selected area would have helped to fade the effect. But, it makes it look really cool… Perhaps you should do this over and over a little bit larger each time so that you get a series of steps… Keep playing with these tools, for they can provide endless hours of activity.
