Color Schemes

Monochrome: A log my daughter and wife are going to EVENTUALLY turn into a bird house.

Analogous: This is a cut out section of a rainbow my daughter painted a few weeks ago.

Complementary: Green window frame with red curtain.

  1. These are all good ideas, but I must point out that analogous color groups are in threes. So, if you crop the photo to include only three of the colors in the rainbow, it will work perfectly. The "Xbox" photo, unfortunately, is not complementary. Black is the absence of all light and white is the inclusion of all colors. So, go back and look at the "book" and see if you can find things that are complementary colors. I do like the Xbox photo though, it's a really cool shape.

  2. These all look very artistic, especially the window frame. The folds, textures, and shadows of the curtain make for an interesting photo that is somehow very satisfying to look at.

  3. I enjoy the one of the window, though the green looks to be black but I like the contrast in the dark green vs the red and the difference in them.

  4. What unique things to capture for the assignment. The log really camouflages with the background. The rainbow is nice, it adds a personal touch!

  5. Great job! I love the monochrome photo by having a wood stump being the main focus and wood as the background.
