Ian, I really liked your fourth photo. Although the photo is a little on the dark side I feel this helps to set a certain mood. I think it gives the photo a more sullen affect like this pup might be missing his owner. I also think the position of the dog and the angle helps to give the photo a more serious tone. I definitely want to give you props for photography your dog, I tried the same thing and my camera needed a bath after. My bulldog got a little tongue happy during the shoot and wouldn't sit still!!

Cute doggie! I really like the top picture, even though it is a bit shadowy, and I like the wistful expression on doggie's face.
